Terry Fox | 10 Day 1000 Word Challenge
My personal feelings or ideas about Terry Fox are …
That Terry Fox is a really special person. When he was running he went to the hospital almost every time, but when he runs in different towns people and mayors give money. I lived in Ontario and at my school we donated money and the amount of money we get we buy stuff as to what we needed. Like Terry Fox he bought stuff as to what he needed.
Schools all over the world support Terry by going and running. For an example: the school in Candiac near Montreal named St. Lawrence School that does the Terry Fox run every year. We donate money just like my other school.
Terry Fox loved to run, but the most important thing about Terry is he gave a message to the world, and that running is important to him and other people. So know people around the world run’s just because Terry gave a message out.

Ghost On Train | A Response To Ghost Train By Paul Yee
I just read a story called Ghost Train. In the story theirs a little girl named Choon-yi. For the title it seems like their is a Ghost on a Train.
Choon-yi was born in South China, with poor peasants. Choon-yi was born with only one arm. Her parents had NO money, so they can’t by food like everyday just like we do. Every market days Choon-yi gose and ask if she can paint people’s faces for money.
In the book Choon-yi father had to sail to North America to build a runway through mountains. When her father was gone they were worried because it was a dangerous job. The most nice part was when her father said “I promise together will paint a picture.”
Two Years Pasted
Her father sent money and messages, then on one of the messages it said “Come quick Choon-yi”
When Choon-yi got their she asked for her father, but the men said ” Sorry, your father was killed about a week a go.” So Choon-yi started walking back.
Choon-yi saw her father in a dream, he asked for Choon-yi to paint a fire-car, but she didn’t know what it look like. she didn’t know if it was big or small, tall or short, round or square. So Choon-yi started t walked till see saw a train stop. Then Choon-yi saw a train stop but she couldn’t get in because she knew NO English at all. But then there was a hole then she looked in and she saw a big train. So now she saw a train and she painted as to what she has seen, but she shook her head it was not right. Then she finished her painting. She shook her head THIS IS IT!
Details were fuzzy.
Then Choon-yi rode the train. At every stop she looked around and she saw: The painted numbers on each car, the polished wooden steeps, and the dark oil clinging to the wheel axles. She rode the train all day. When it was time to change trainit was dark outside. Choon-yi hugged herself and said ” I’m afraid. I hurt no one.” Choon-yi planned to finish painting, so she leaft home immediately.
Choon-yi saw her father in her mined, he said ” Daughter you had made the master-pice.”
The next day Choon-yi followed the railway and out to the city.
She layed her painting out open. The red-gold rays of the setting sun cut trough the incense.
Choon-yi felt someone behind her and it was her father. Ba asked Choon-yi, If she would like to help to build the railway, but Choon-yi held back, she didn’t want to go and help a bunch of died people. Ba said many men died, but no body’s were found. Choon-yi joined Ba, and walked throw the cars. Choon-yi saw shadows and fingers gliding.
Through the haze,Ba said ” That Train went over icey rivers.” When they were walking some people stood at the windows. Choon-yi father said ” She picked up her painting and went back to China.
Feelings
My feelings about Ghost Train is, on page one it shows how her life started and as she got older she had more and more promblems. Like for an example: Continue reading…
If I Were An Animal
Monkeys
- I like how they jump tree to tree.
- I saw monkeys at the Toronto zoo playing hide-and-seek. It looked like fun.
- They’re funny!
- I saw monkeys with little pink bottoms and I thought they were cute!
If I were a monkey:
- I would eat bananas all day.
- I will talk to my friends all the time in monkey language.
- I would jump and swing from tree to tree with my tail. I think that would be fun.
- I would like to be a monkey with a pink bottom.
- It would not be fun if I were trapped and put in the zoo. I would want to be free.
- I like the feeling of their fur. It feels like a short haired dog.
- I think they use their sense of smell like dogs do – to indentify.
